Telephone Banking

As a Guaranty Trust customer, you can now have access to banking services from the comfort of your home, office or car. All you need is a telephone (either landline or mobile). This service provides instant access to your account information from a touch-tone telephone set regardless of your location.

It saves you the time and effort of visiting our offices and leaves your valuable time to pursue other important things.

The services available are:

  • Transfer money between your accounts at Guaranty Trust
  • Check the details of transactions on your account
  • Confirm cheques issued to third parties
  • Receive statement of account by e-mail
  • Stop payment on a cheque
  • Check your account balances
  • Open additional accounts
  • Order your cheque books

How does this work?

The Guaranty Trust Telephone Banking Service is a fully automated and user-friendly telephone inquiry system that provides you data on your account instantly.

Once you dial in, you will be guided through the service options by a recording done in a clear and friendly tone. We have carefully designed this system with you in mind in order to provide a service tailored to your needs.

How do I sign up?

It is easy. Simply fill out an application form and return it to us. Our Customer Information Service Officers would be pleased to advise you of your initial pass code, which gives you access to the service immediately.

Your Pass code is a unique means of identifying yourself to the system. It functions just like a password. Once you receive this Pass code, you are advised to change it immediately. Please do not disclose this code to anyone.

What do I do next?

Once you sign up to the service, simply dial +220 4376387, +220 4376388 or Ext 351 (if you are within our banking premises) and allow us to guide you through the service options.

Are my transactions safe and secure?

At Guaranty Trust, we are committed to customer confidentiality and security. This is why each Telephone Banking User has a unique combination of PIN (Personal Identification Number) and Pass code, which is private to him/her.

How does this affect my regular banking transaction?

The addition of Telephone Banking to our services is to give you more choices and flexibility. You can therefore carry out your regular transactions as you normally do.

The only difference is the flexibility it gives you. If you cannot visit the Bank or it is closed for business, you can pick up a phone and carry out your banking transactions.

What you need to know

Each button or key on your touch-tone telephone box represents inputs for each of the service options. Before accessing the service, make sure your phone is set to TONE, not PULSE mode. The asterisk (i.e. *) represents a decimal point. Please remember to press asterisk button whenever you want to insert a decimal point.
